Christmas break is here.  This means a rest for your children who have been working hard and a time to celebrate with family the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Your children have been working hard this year and are already half way done with the school year.  Enjoy the holiday and we all look forward to seeing you in January.

Grade 1 Red

Merry Christmas to all!

The first week of December Grade 1 Red were infected with the spirit of Christmas. In topic the students made Christmas decorations and did role play about Jesus' birth.

In numeracy the students were challenged to make a venn diagram, read a graph, and name and draw the 2-D and 3-D shapes.

In literacy, they continue to strengthen their skills in phonics, spelling and reading. They also tried for the first time to retell the story through writing of The Three Little Pigs.

English as another Language

Stories, stories, stories! ESL classes this semester have worked on different story elements, such as characters, setting, plot, conflict and resolution. Our young authors then used the skills they had learnt to map out, write, edit and publish their very own story! They have had to dig deep into their imaginations to create fun and exciting sentences to interest an audience. They have done an excellent job and we’ve really enjoyed reading them.
